Independence Day celebrated with fervour by Gokulnagar Residents

Welfare Society conducts AGM  


The 72nd Independence Day was observed with traditional fervour by the Gokulnagar Welfare Society at their Community Place with a flag hoisting ceremony which was attended by residents and children in particular.

Later participating in the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Shri N S Prasad, General Secretary, Gokulnagar Welfare Society and SCOTRWA, presented the Executive Committee report and audited Balance Sheet for the year 2017-18 to the members.

While, the Society had an eventful year, the highlight was the visit by Honourable Minister for Excise and Prohibition, Sports and Youth Affairs to Gokulnagar. Members of the Executive Committee had raised various long pending issues with the minister who assured speedy redressal.

The minister was also requested to grant the construction of a multi-purpose hall which he immediately acceded to and directed GHMC engineers to prepare estimates for the same and put up for sanction.

During the year various activities like improvement of the play area, celebration of festivals and other cultural activities like Bathukamma festival for the third year in running, Kartika Deepostavam for the first time, Rangoli competition on the occasion of Sankranthi and the Annual Day celebrations were held during the year, the EC report said.

Apart from the update on the events and other activities during the year, the AGM also discussed pending issues and problems and improvements for the colony.
