HelpAge India Awareness Session


HelpAge India organised an awareness programme on MWPSC Act-07 with the support of Senior Citizens Association, Adilabad at Pensioners Bhavan. Later, they handed over a  memorandum to Mrs. Sadana, Deputy-DM&HO, Adilabad, requesting her to implement MWPSC Act-07 section 20 (Health Security for Senior Citizens) in Adilabad district.

Deendayal Nagar Senior Citizens Welfare Association has organised a Vihara Yatra for the members and their spouses in order to promote better acquaintance with each other, to Saraswathi Devi Temple at Vergal and Sri Venkateswara Temple at Ratnalaya on 20th July 2019. On the way, they visited Katta Maisamma Temple at Shamirpet.

Members appreciated the visit and requested more such tours frequently. N E Acharya President and S Nageswararao Vice President conyed their thanks to the Executive Body Members as well as participants for the cooperation extended and assured that in future there will be such programs frequently.

Vivek Senior Citizens Seva Samithi


The Samithi in Ganeshpuri Colony, Dilsukh Nagar, Hyderabad celebrated ‘International Environment Day’ while organizing their 7th Annual Day. Sri. D. Sudheer Reddy, MLA, LB Nagar Hyderabad was the special guest: Sri. M. Ram Mohan, TRS Party –incharge, L.B. Nagar, Chaitanyapuri division Corporator Sri. Vittal Reddy as chief guests and Sri. Tulsidas, Ex-Corporator was the programme. Sri. Y. Krishna Goud, President, Sri. M.Y. Diwakar, Secretary, Sri.M. Mohan Reddy, Treasurer have organized the function.




Forum for Senior Citizens, Tarnaka




The monthly FSCT, meeting was held on 13th July, in Nagarjunanagar  community hall, presided by president Prof K.Srirama Murti and attended by Advisors Sri. GVSRK Somayajulu and Prof T.Tirupathi Rao. After reviewing the activities like membership drive, health camp, visiting on a picnic, etc. it was decided to hold a carrom tournament coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations and to distribute notebooks to poor students studying in Govt. schools.  Monthly accounts were approved along with conveying birthday greetings.

On the same day a lecture on "Physiotherapy for Pain Relief and Management " was delivered with a power point presentation by specialist Dr. Kiran Kumar along with his team of physiotherapy doctors.

This was attended by a large gathering of seniors, both men & women. Dr Kumar explained in detail the types of pains, causes and the relief measures to be adopted under various conditions. The talk was followed by an interaction session with the audience. After felicitating the doctors team, B.Omprakash gen. secretary proposed a vote of thanks and requested for holding a practical camp soon.

Association of Senior Citizens -Hyderabad


The Annual General body meeting of AOSC-Hyd, was held on 23rd July 2019, in Lions club Bhavan Secunderabad, presided by Sri R.N.Mittal, and Sri M.Chidambara Rao president.

The Annual report for the year 2018-19 was read out by past secretary Sri Chepuri Shankar Rao highlighting the events and activities carried out along with the audited accounts statements. One of the major successful events during last year was holding 18th AISCCON conference in Hyderabad on 29&30th November, which was largely attended by about 2000 seniors from all over India, and inaugurated by Vice President of  India, Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu. Further, the 20th foundation day was also celebrated in the presence of  Sri Jagdeeswar IAS, Principal Secretary, Sri Vuchidi  Mohan Reddy ex- MLA, Lion Vijay Kumar Setty and others. It is also reported that three books were published and distributed apart from regular monthly newsletter. The cultural team headed by Dr Shobha perindevi enacted dramas and organised AIR programme. Seniors  who have supported and helped the events were felicitated.

Mr.IM Bhalla immediate past president of AOSC-Hyd, wished all the success to the newly elected body. Sri. R.N. Mittal, Chairman suggested a few more activities in the Day Care Centre apart from the newly formed Trust.  The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Sri B.Omprakash,  treasurer.

NGOs to Work to Prevent Abuse of Elders


Karimnagar MP (TS) Sri. Sanjay while distributing wheel chairs , walkers, spectacles etc. to elders under Rashtreeya Sree Yojana programme at Huzurabad Market yard on 14th July, said that those who abuse elders would be strictly punished under the Act, and the NGOs should come forward to prevent atrocities on elders. The ZP Chairperson Smt. K.Vijaya and the Asst. Director of Senior Citizens Welfare took part along with Sri. Vuchidi Mohan Reddy, Senior Citizens President, Md. Hussain, Jandardhan Rao, Y. Kondal Reddy and others.

Dr. A.S. Rao speaking on the subject of “How to be Active and be Happy” in the Freedom Fighters Bhawan in Vijayawada on 20th under the auspices of the District Senior Citizens Association. Other participants are Sri. Vemuru Babu Rao, President and Sri. Mothukuri Venkateswara Rao. secretary, Dr. V. Rao, M.V. Krishna Rao, P. Narasimha Rao and others. Later they proceeded to plant trees in the precincts along with the police officials.




A Note to AP Endowments Minister in AP

The AP Senior Citizens Samakhya Vijayawada has submitted a note to the A.P. Endowments Minister on 14th requesting to provide special amenities to them in all the temples, such as, special ticket / prasadam counters, free visits, discount for accommodation, etc. The letter has been forwarded by Sri. M. Venkateswara Rao, Vice- President and V. Babu Rao, Secretary of the Federation.




Senior citizens in Guntur

Avagahana Samstha in Guntur, AP has observed the World Music Day on 22nd June in which many members have participated by reciting their songs and poetry.

On 14th July, Dr. S. Kumaravelu, Neurologist gave a lecture on health care concerning the neurological issues in Kubera Towers, 15/1 Arundelpet in Guntur.

On 16th there was a session and debate on the issue: whether it is possible to prevent corruption, as the present Government in AP aspires?

APHRDI at Bapatla

In a meeting held at APHRDI at Bapatla (A.P.), on11-07-2019, Prof. T. Trilochan Sastry  of National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms, New Delhi has urged the public to bring a revolution in the rules of the elections and to see that   the govt. and the political leaders strictly follow them. Later, he was honoured by APHRDI DG Sril Chakrapani, and the AP Election Watch state coordinators Sri. Sai Babu and Nageshwara Rao. Other guests were Sri. I.S. N. Raju and Sri. W.G.K Murty.




On 29th June, Sri. Kambaduri Shaik Nabi Rasool and Sri. Ravindranath Reddy participating in a ‘Face to Face’ that takes place every 4th Saturday of the month in Ananthapur, AP with the district officials, including the District Civil Supplies Officer, Sri. Siva Sanker Reddy.

Tanuku Senior Citizens Association


In the Elders Mela-2019 in A. V. College grounds in Hyderabad on 15th June, conducted by the Elders Club International, Sri. Gadigatla Keseswara Rao and Srimati. Mangaratnam are felicitated in the presence of the president of ECI, justice G. Chandraiah, its  secretary, Sri. M. Krishna Reddy, vice president, Sri. Aavulappa, president of the Federation of Senior Citizens Organisation, Sri. V. Mohan Reddy, ex-MLA, editor of the Voice of Senior Citizens, Sri. S. Bhuma Reddy, and several others.

  • Medical camp on 16th June, 3rd Sunday, where the Sai Sri. Swetha Diagnostic Centre has conducted several medical tests for 32 persons and Dr. B. Venkateswarlu has carried out the diagnostic and gave medical prescriptions and counselled them. Medicines are distributed to the deserving freely thanks  to the donation given by the Karuturi Foundation.

  • President, Sri. G. Keseswara Rao has participated in the World Elders’ Abuse awareness Day rally and gathering held in the Necklace Road, Hyderabad.

  • A medical camp is held on 23rd June in the Venugopala swamy temple precincts in Mortha village of Undrajavaram mandal, where 345 villagers have received medical care. Free medicines are provided by Sri. Solanki of Jayanti Jewellers. This is done after having delivered medical services to the elders patients who could not move out of their houses in Tanuku.

  • There has been a general assembly meeting on 25th June presided over by the vice-president, Sri. Nallajerla Venkateswara Rao. In the month of May, the financial contributions received are : Rs. 25,000 from Sri. Kudapa Raghunayakulu, Rs.10,000 from Sri. Kudapa Venkata Rao, Rs.25,000 for buying a generator from Mrs. Kudapa Subbalakshmi and some Rs.65,000 from others who assembled on the spot. Dr. Hussain Ahmed in addition to his personal services has contributed Rs. 30,000 for physiotherapy purposes, while others on this occasion gave Rs. 16,000.

  • On 1st July, the Doctors’ Day was aptly observed by the Association, where a valuable message is given by Dr. Hussain Ahmed; where Dr. Sundar Ramaraju and Dr. G. Venkateswara Rao are felicitated. Others who spoke on the occasion are Dr. Bondada Venkateswara Rao and Dr. T. Satyanarayana Murthy garu, rtd. D.M.H.O. of Rapaka.



  • On 7th July, a mega medical camp is conducted in the precincts of Ramayalam in K. Savaram in Undrajavaram mandalam in cooperation with ‘Janasevak’ foundation. Dr. Hussain Ahmed, Dr. Vegesna Satyanarayana Raju and Dr. Vatsavaye Venkatraju have attended to 210 patients. 25 eye operations are carried out and 30 spectacles are distributed for the needy. Both Solanki of Jayanti Jeyellers and Karaturi foundation have supplied the medicines free of cost.



  • On 9th July, the Association has celebrated birth anniversary of Sri. Bolla Bulli Ramayya, a long-time well-wisher, a senior member, a liberal donor in the name of his father Bolla bulli Venkanna garu, and also a former Union minister. On 16th July, on the day of Guru Pournami, the residents of Undrajavaram and the inmates of the old age home have been largely present when the ex-sarpanch Smt. Kudapa Subbalakshmi and her husband Sri. Chakrapani have warmly felicitated the couple G. Keseswra Rao and Mangaratnam for their untiring service to the poor and needy.

Kurnool District Senior Citizens Welfare Association


Free medical camp organised by Kurnool District Senior Citizens Welfare Association on 30.6.19. Doctors who attended are: Dr M Jaya Prakash, Dr Balaeeswarudu, Dr Prabhakar, with the cooperation of Dr M NagaRaju, L Ratna Reddy, ND. Christopher, P Moses, etc.

       A meeting is held on the subject of ‘Yuvatha..Samaja nirmanam’ in which Dr Bramha Reddy and Dr M NagaRaju spoke.

Dictionaries of English to Telugu are distributed to those who won in the essay competition on ‘Thatha avvala samrakshana and anuragam on 22-7-19, by Dr M Naga Raju, L Ratna Reddy, ND Christopher Krupavaram.

On 23-7-19, some members of the Association, Dr M NagaRaju,L Ratna Reddy Krupavaram chandranna ND Christopher, Moses went and consoled a depressed old couple who tried to commit suicide in Ulchala village.




Senior Citizen’s  Forum, Nizambad


The Forum took the responsibility to perform the marriage of a girl of a poor woman with a boy, who has no father, in cooperation with ‘Satya Sai Seva Kendra’ who came forward to bear the expenditure including food. The Forum has given ‘ Mangala Sutram’ and silver toe rings to the Girl and assured to assist her to get Rs. 1,00,116/- from the govt. under Kalyana Laxmi scheme.

The members of the Forum have donated Rs. 36,000/- towards the ‘Fani’ flood relief fund to Odissa govt. The DD was handed over to the Dt. Collector, Nizamabad.

The Forum extended their cooperation to the Dt. Consumer Information Centre in organising a one –day workshop at Govt. Junior College on 29th June, along with All Telangana Consumer Organisation, under the Chair of Prof. Dr. B. Bala Krishna of Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad. Some important topics were discussed by Sri. V. Shankar Rao, Chairman, CATCO, Sri.N. Srinivas, Hon’Chairman, CATCO, and Sri. Shankarlal Chowrasia, Sec. Gen. of CATCO respectively. Smt. Suvarna Jayasri, Hon’ President, Dist. Consumer Forum, NZM was the chief guest. The Programme has been sponsored by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Pattana Senior Citizens in Mahabubnagar


There was a meeting of the Pattana Senior Citizens Forum on 5th July, where Sri. Chandrasekhar gau, judge, Lok Adalat and Sri. Manmohan, PRO in S.P. office were the chief guests. Present are: Forum president, Sri. S. Jagapathi Rao, Secretary, Sri. Nescanti Nagabhushanam, Sri. Savaraiah, Sri. M. Balaiah, Sri. Gara Jayaram, Sri. Pandurangaiah, Sri. Subhash Reddy, Sri. A. Rajasimhudu, Sri. Balaswamy, Sri. K. Venkataiah, Sri. L. Gangadhar, Sri. D. Ramreddy, Sri. K.V. Ashok and others.

On 10th July, Sri. S. Jagapathi Rao, president of the Forum was the chief guest in a meeting arranged by the Hanwada senior citizens, invited the retired persons to use their free time to solve peoples' problems.

On 17th July, a team of senior citizens have visited the operational part of the grand Kaleswaram project and other linked areas, such as Medigadda, Kannepalli, Annaram barrage, Dharmapuri, Kondagattu, Vemulavada and Warangal.

J.R.Gupta re-elected as President of Senior Citizens Council of Delhi


In the Annual General Body Meeting on  30-06-2019 in the presence of large number of senior citizens, Sri. B.S. Yadav , the Returning Officer has announced that Sri. J.R. Gupta is re-elected as president  for 2020 -21 and 2021 -22. The meeting commenced with Ganesh Vandana & 2 minutes silence was observed for the members who had passed away since last AGM. L.R.Garg, Secretary presented Annual Report of activities organised by its members for the year 2018-19.

Accordingly, J.R.Gupta nominated S/Sh.Ramesh Aggarwal (Vice-President), L.R.Garg (Secretary), Pratap Singh (Treasurer), Executive Members :- Gyan Singh Tokas, Sardare Singh &  Amar Chand Bansal.While thanking the members for their re-confidence on him and assuring to work more for the cause and care of elderly, he appreciated the efforts and initiatives of Sh. Dinesh Kumar Sangal and Mrs. Manjula Aggarwal in running the Recreation Center. After the meeting, Prof. (Dr.) Saraswat Mohan, National Poet recited various patriotic poems which were appreciated by all present and was also felicitated. Thereafter, Joint Birthday Celebrations of 8 members was celebrated with flowers , shawl and gift. Fancy Dress Competition was also performed by male/female senior citizens. Mrs. Manju Chabbra was welcomed and introduced to audience who assured to train senior citizens as good Parliamentarians.




In Chennai


Senior Citizens Bureau, Anna Nagar, Chennai, organized on 20th from 10.am. onwards a free Health Check-up for all Women Police force at Ayanavaram Police Station through Kauvery Hospital medical team. They conducted various tests, like BP, Blood Sugar, Dental checkup, eye, ear etc. The doctors also advised them on  Osteoporosis, stress tension, menopause, breast cancer and nutrition.

113 Malayali Senior Citizens of Hyderabad were felicitated in a grand scale by Minister and the  Directors of Language and Culture in Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium, Hyderabad. Ramdas Vallikat and Lakshmi Kutty Ramdas were also felicitated. Two items presented by Ramdas were appreciated by the audience.

The All India Central Ground Water Board Pensioners’ Association, Faridabad


It held its Annual General Body meeting for the year 2018-2019 on 6th July at Maharana Pratap Bhawan in Sector 8 in Faridabad.  It was presided over by the president Sri. M.S. chauhan and the report of activities presented by Sri. N. Somaiah, the General Secretary, and the accounts read out by the treasurer were approved. The same is sent to the Registrar of Firms and Societies, Faridabad. A number of members who have served for more than 30 years were honoured. After the vote of thanks, a lunch was served under the hospitality of Sri. P.C. Sharma of Milan Sweets.
