Election Watch Activities in AP&TS Former SEC Joins the ranks of the Election Watch One is no more an officer, but he remains a concerned citizen.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Nimmagadda whose activism brought new light on the role of a State Election Commissioner has completed his term and retired in Andhra Pradesh on 31st March, 2021. 

Soon after i.e. the day after, approached by the civil society organisations in AP&TS which conducts vigilance activities during the elections to uphold democratic values, to be one of their advisors and guides along with other stalwarts like Justice Dr. A. Lakshmana Rao, former chief justice of Allahabad High Court, etc., he readily accepted so as to continue to uphold the constitutional values for which he struggled so valiantly while in office. - From March 7th to 10th for four days in the office of the Avagahana Samstha in Guntur many people came to consult the municipal voters’ list and collected their voter slips.
On 8th March a delegation consisting of Sri. M.Nageswarrao, Sri. Jampa Krishna Kishore, Sri. Motukuri Venkateswararao, Smt. Narla Malati, met State Election Commissioner’s Secretary Sri. Kannababu, IAS and Joint Secy. Sri. Ravindra and expressed their appreciation for their dedicated work during these critical times. 

While discussing about certain grave issues, NOTA, etc. that came to their notice, the AP team handed over the lists of the volunteers for identity cards and sought other facilities. - Election Watch Review in Budwel On 21st March, the Budwel Election Watch met and assessed their performance during the municipal elections for the councillors held on 10th of the same month in the presence of the District Co-Convenor and In-charge of Budwel Constituency Sri. Budwel Gurumurthy. Sri. P. Venkata Ramana, In-charge of the municipality thanked all the officials who cooperated with them, not without pointing out all the usual evils like distribution of money that took place. In addition, Coordinator Sri. M. Pitchaiah, Sri. Raj Kumar, members of S.C.S.T.Monitoring Committee Sri. Narayana, and civil society organisers Sri. Patlu Prakasam, Sri. C. Rangaraju, Sri. K. Ramakrishna, Sri. Ranganayakulu, Sri. N. Venkateswarlu, Sri. Ramathirdham, Sri. Raghurami Reddy, Sri. S. Bhasha, Sri. Narsimhulu, advocate, etc. have also participated in the programme. - Ananthapuram District Election Watch On 22nd March, the team consisting of the Convenor Sri. Kambadour Nabi Rasool and members Sarvasri. Sudhakar, Honnurappa, Balanna, Rasheed, S.M. Basha, Muralidhar and othes have met the District Collector Sri. Gandham Chandrudu, who was the District Electoral Officer during the elections and handed over a momento and a shawl in appreciation of his close cooperation with the Ennikala Nigha Vedika during the elections.

Sri. Therala Ugandhar, Vice President of the Telangana State Consumers Protection Samithi, Gopalapuram-Vidyaranyapuri, Warangal is felicitated for his outstanding and consistent contribution to the movement by the CATCO in Birla Science Center in Hyderabad in the presence of the President Sri. Vemula Gowri Shankar, Secretary Sri. Shankarlal Chourasia and Prof. Purushottam Reddy and Justice M.S.K. Jaiswal, chairman State Consumers’ Disputes Redressal Commission. On this occasion, the Orugallu Consumers Protection Counicil and the Senior Citizens Associations have also joined to felicitate him. In Medak Degree college the District Civil Supplies Officer urged the students to be well aware of their rights as consumers. President of the District Consumers Rights Information Centre, Sri. Dakuri Venkatesam also offered information and support. Other participants are Sri. Purna Chander, member of the Centre as well as the Principal of the college Dr. A Sudhakar, Telugu Director Sri. Venu, Junior Assistant of the revenue office Sri. Ramu and others. 

AP Human Rights Commission After a long-pending demand by the civil society organisations, a High-Powered State Committee of GoAP has appointed on 17th March, 2021 Sri. Mandata Seetharama Murthy, a retired High Court justice as the chairperson and Sri. Dande Subrahmanyam, a retired judge as the judicial member and Sri. Gochipatha Srinivasa Rao, advocate as non-judicial member. We have yet to know from the government websites as to how and where to communicate with them. 

The 10th District level meeting of Raithu Swarajya Vedika in Ananthapuram Press Club on 7th March by the State-in charge, Sri. Kiran and Visakha in charge Smt. Bhanuja in the presence of Sri. Chandrasekhar of Human Rights Forum, Sri. Honurappa of RTI Parirakshana Sangham, Sri. Ravindranath Reddy of the District Federation of the Consumers Associations and Sri. Kambaduri Shaik Nabi Rasool of the District Writers Association.
World TB Elimination Day Several rallys were conducted on the initiative of the Governor of TS and under the auspices of the Tuberculosis Board in several bastis in Hyderabad by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation as well as the District Red Cross with the participation of its President Sri. Mamidi Bheemreddy, Media Coordinator Sri. Mandadi Satish Reddy, Dr. Challadevi and many other members of the RedCross. -Akiveedu, West Godavari World Theatre Day
The Koshish Theatre Group of COVA Peace Network whose plays communicate rollicking humour with a strong social message, presented online it’s “ Praja Nahin Nagrik Hain Hum (We are not Subjects but Citizens) to give an orientation to the provisions in Article 243 of the Constitution of India and to enable citizens to participate in local governance. All this is through rib tickling Hyderabadi Lingo. In action since 2004, the Repertory of Koshish Theatre Group contains short plays on social issues like national integration, communal harmony, local governance, education, water conservation, India Pakistan conflict, tax on the poor, dowry menace, etc. The performances are in communities, educational institutions, gatherings for religious festivals and other public events where the audience is encouraged to deconstruct and discuss the play for a better understanding of the social problems and issues featured. Koshish Theatre Group won many state and national awards and has the distinction of being featured by the BBC.

Consequently, the C & IG clarified that online or physical General Body or EC meetings of the Societies are the choice of each Society. Therefore, whenever they send minutes of the meetings of such online meetings, they shall be accepted without any query. Sri. G.Prasada Rao has taken over as the mission to attend to them during the COVID 19 epidemic. He got many of them vaccinated. He accompanied a few to the vaccine centers. Besides, some of the seniors who are not computer-literate were also registered from the office and got them vaccinated.
