Gaurav Human Excellence Award to JR Nagar RWA, Visakhapatnam Jagannadharaju Nagar RWA, Visakhapatnam, was selected for the Gaurav Human Excellence Award for the year 2020-2021 by GVMC Visakhapatnam for its remarkable services in the field of rainwater harvesting, community composting and greenery development. The Award was given on Friday, 12th February, 2021, at a function held in Gurajada Kalakshetram, Siripuram. It was attended by Hon’ble Minister of Home, Sri Botsa Satyanarayana and Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Sri Avanthi Srinivasa Rao, apart from Sri G Srijana, IAS, Commissioner, GVMC, Visakhapatnam and a number of Swachh Bharat Ambassadors of the city of Visakhapatnam.
Simultaneously Dr.K.S.R.Murthy, Associate President of APFERWAS, Visakhapatnam and Secretary General of CoRWA, Hyderabad, was also presented with Gaurav Human Excellence Award for his able leadership of JR Nagar RWA as its President. Dr.K.S.R.Murthy Voice of Gajuwaka
The Federation of Gajuwaka RWAs of Zone V in Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation constantly interacts with the RWAs of the area and encourages their performance to achieve excellence in their activities. VoG also recognizes and felicitates them every year during its anniversary program.In GVMC, the Zone V, Gajuwaka is the biggest and largest zone in terms of area and population.The RWAs are very active in taking up various activities for the development of their colonies, Swachh Bharat, Swachh Sarvekshan, Beat the Plastic pollution, Clean & green, Sanitation, Segregation, RHPs, Composting pits, parks development, etc. Among them, the Tirumalanagar RWA stands on the top and occupies the first place throughout with its continuous activities. Very recently it also earned the Water Hero award from the Ministry of Water Resources. Earlier it got (i) the best RWA award from CoRWA during its NCRWA held at Hyderabad (ii) AP State best RWA award from Govt, for the year 2018, besides various appreciations from GVMC. Broadband for All  Today, there is a need to have uninterrupted digital connectivity for allcommercial, residential and govt. buildings and hence it is important to have arobust digital infrastructure installed before occupation in such buildings. The recent pandemic has provided us with sufficient conviction of the need to have a robust Digital Infrastructure in place to ensure that we remain connected. Broadband India Forum (BIF) is an independent policy forum and not-for-profitthink-tank that works for the development and enhancement of the entire broadbandecosystem in a holistic, technology-neutral and service-neutral manner. BIF’sconstant and continuing endeavour has been to promote, support and enhance all policy, regulatory and standards initiatives for the proliferation of high-qualitybroadband in the country to empower consumers with efficient and economical broadband to realize the true Digital India. Broadband India Forum, in association with Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, GoI has organised a Workshop on "Connect India: In-building Solutions” with inter-ministerial participation including DoT, TRAI, NITI Aayog and BIS on Friday, 19th Feb. 2021 in two sessions: a) Inaugural Session with Shri Durga Shankar Mishra,IAS, Secretary, MoHUA as chief guest. b) Interactive Session with Shri S K Gupta, Secretary, TRAI as chief guest; and Shri Sushil Kumar Narnoli, DDG (Civil), DoT; Smt. Archana Goyal Gulati, Jt. Secretary, NITI Aayog; Shri Asit Kadayan, Advisor (QoS), TRAI; and Shri Sanjay Pant, Head of Civil Engineering, BIS as guest speakers. This is in pursuance of the workshop organized by TRAI last year in association with MoHUA on “Improving Connectivity Inside Buildings”. On behalf of CoRWA, Mr. N. Lakshmi Narayana has participated in the webinar and raised questions related to accessibility, affordability, role of RWAs and CSOs. It is concluded that more need to be done for better connectivity by taking the support of all the stakeholders in general and in particular the government-service providers, RWAs, infra developers tuning to the vision of the nation. The discussions revealed that the connectivity is better in rural areas and that there are several problems in urban areas.
