Vaccination Drive in RWAs

 Mr. B.T. Srinivasan, General Secretary of UFERWAS, Hyderabad has convened a Zoom meeting on 26th May of office-bearers of UFERWAS with the Hon’ble Minister for Finance Sri Harish Rao garu on vaccination camps to be organised in RWA areas. As a consequence of which, the Government of  Telangana in their R.C. No./DPHFW/Peshi/ COVID-19/2021-72 has  issued by the Directorate of Health has permitted vaccination of all above 18 years and authorized the private hospitals to proceed on the request of the companies, institutions and the RWAs.



RWAs in the Forefront of Vaccination        

The first of its kind Mobile App of UFERWAS to  administer the vaccination drives for RWAs in collaboration with many hospitals is launched by the Principal secretary, Industries & Commerce and IT, Sri. Jayesh Ranjan through a virtual meet 6th June, 21.(URLhttps://vaccination.uferwas.in/ vaccination/ With this, Telangana has become the first state to get this facility. The City-based IT professionals including DSN Murthy, CEO of Dhanush Info Tech Pvt. Ltd. and Uday Shankar Peyyeti, associate vice president, Cambay Consulting Services, and Vice-President of UFERWAS have developed this mobile application. Speaking on the occasion, IT principal secretary, Jayesh Ranjan, said, “This new mobile app is a user-friendly app and UFERWAS stands as a role model in the country.” Telangana will overcome shortage of vaccines by July. Bharat Biotech has agreed to provide four lakh vaccine doses to us. Importing Sputnik vaccine is also being planned and a clarity on these doses will be known in the next month,” he said. The Telangana government has tied up with private hospitals in the city, and instructed to organise vaccination camps in different areas rather than in one place. The state Health Dept. has chalked out the massive vaccination drive to ensure every person gets vaccinated. For this, many function halls and auditoriums like Hari Hara Kala Bhavan are being booked, said Ranjan. The GMR employees working in RGI airport will also be vaccinated on the lines of super spreaders soon, added the IT official.

UFERWAS president, Rao VBJ Chelikani explained the objective of the app while general secretary B T Srinivasan briefed about measures to be taken to ensure vaccine drive through RWAs.

UFERWAS with its network of RWA has covered on date more than 25,000 people and numbers are growing. Adding to this, we are also distributing oxygen-enriching plants at the vaccination centers with support from Harithaharam office of GoT. In continuation to this endeavour, UFERWAS has expressed its interest to also administer the Free vaccination drive at communities with the support from the Government. On the eve of International Yoga Day, we have coordinated with CUCAI and other schools in Telangana to organize Meditation programs through  Sahaja Yoga Society covering more than 300 schools across Telangana and elsewhere. While observing the Doctors Day on 1st July, we wish to establish regular mechanisms of direct communications with the local medical fraternity for health services and the RWAs.

Update: The members of U-FERWAS are informed that Times of India, Hyderabad is associating itself to promote " COVID Appropriate Behaviour " awareness at all our vaccination camps. ToI will depute their reporter and coordinator to our camps where they'll distribute a small questionnaire on COVID appropriate behaviour and reward the first 3 people who will correctly answer the questions. Further, the ToI reporter will also cover the event.

A COVID vaccination drive was organised on 14th June 2021 at St. Francis Degree College. It was successfully held for more than 200 members and their household support staff. Corporator Mrs. Sarala Ketineni helped to acquire the vaccinations through Aster Prime Hospital. RWA members- Sanjay Kumar, Padma Balachandran, Karuna, Chandana, Jaishankar an major Shiva Kiran have organised the programme.

CoRWA-UP in Uttar Pradesh      

            The Confederation of RWAs in Uttar Pradesh (CoRWA-UP) held its first webinar in which a proposal has come to hold the next All India Conference of RWAs in Ghaziabad in association with CoRWA, the national body on 23rd Nov 2021, which is observed as the RWA Day every year. Hon’ble MP of Rajya Sabha Shri Anil Agarwal and Hon’ble Health Minister of Govt of UP Shri Atul Garg have already  promised to participate and to support. Programme and logistics will be decided  later. God forbid, if Corona menace still prevails by then, the physical conference may be converted into online.
