Bengaluru Residents’ Associations’ Confederation Ensemble (BRAE) met on 8.12.2018 and discussed the United Bengaluru’s complaint on lakes, commercialisation of Residential Areas, Bannerghatta-ESZ, Ward Committee meetings, etc.

Secretary MAUD reviews Swachh Sarvekshan Preparations Shri Arvind Kumar, On 19th December Shri Arvind Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development ( MA&UD), Telangana State convened a meeting on Swachh Sarvekshan 2019 arrangements in Hyderabad with Commissioner GHMC Shri Dana Kishore, IAS, HMDA Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy, IAS &  other government officials from HMWSSB, HRDC & HMRL,  all GHMC ZCs, DCs, AMOHs, other staff to rise to occasion in collaboration with RWAs & institutions.

JR Nagar Welfare Association Silver Jubilee Celebrations




J.R. Nagar Welfare Association, Visakhapatnam celebrated their Silver Jubilee for three days i.e. , 14,15, 16th Dec. in their colony. Shri M Harinarayanan, IAS, Commissioner, GVMC was the chief guest and Prog.V.Balmohan Das, former VC of ANG University, Prof.GSN Raju, Vice Chancellor of Cenurion University, Shri Uday Shirname, President, APFERWAS, Shir VV Ramana Murthy, Editor of the Newspaper "Leader" were the guests of honour. In his opening remarks Prof GSN Raju commended the efforts made by the colony association for bringing a low lying area of 1990's to one of the best colonies of the city. Shri B Perumallu Raju, Secretary of the Association narrated the history of the colony and how the Association had organised several seminars, awareness programs, Swachh Bharat Programs to create awareness to the residents. Porf.V Balmohan Das congratulated the JRN RWA for its collective efforts and advised everyone to discourage one-time-disposable plastic items in our daily life. Dr.KSR Murthy, President of  JR Nagar RWA explained that the objective of the day's program is to sensitize the school children about the harmful effects of the plastics and thanked the school for participating and in preparing a variety of placards.







Sri M Harinarayanan while appreciating the efforts of JR Nagar said that without public participation it is difficult to achieve success in any Swachh Bharat programs. He complimented the JR Nagar RWA for celebrating its Silver Jubilee with a noble and social program related to "Beat Plastic Pollution". He particularly thanked the women component represented by Dr.Usha Gajapati Raju and Smt. Indira Lakshmi. Sri VV Ramana Murthy suggested that GVMC should give annual awards for  the best RWA  in the city. Sri Uday Shirname, President APFERWAS congratulated the JR Nagar Team for helping the State Federation also.





Later a pamphlet in Telugu on "Plastic pollution: causes and control measures" was released and the Association distributed jute bags to all the dignitaries and participants. The chief guest Sri M Harinarayanan, then flagged off a Rally by school children on "Beat Plastic Pollution". Children of Rosary School of about 150, went around the colony with placards depicting the harmful effects of disposable plastics and the measures to control this menace.
