CORWA Updates - APFERWAS Spreads Wings, Vijayawada Chapter Soon

The relentless efforts of APFERWAS Core Team to spread the RWA movement across the state are bearing fruit with residential associations in Vijayawada gearing up to open up activities from this emerging global city.

Nearly 40 members of 16 RWAs in the city attended an interactive meeting organised by APFERWAS at the Institution of Engineers hall in Dr.K.L.Rao Bhavan.

While Sri Uday Shirname, President of APFERWAS welcomed the attendees, the Associate President Dr.K.S.R.Murty made a powerpoint presentation and explained the genesis, activities and achievements of the Federation since 2016, and the Visakhapatnam Chapter since 2017. He stressed the need to form a Vijaywada Chapter on similar lines as the Vizag Chapter.

RWAs in Vijayawada evinced keen interest and immediately decided to form a six-member Action Team to prepare for the Vijayawada Chapter.

June 23, 2019 has been fixed tentatively as the date for the opening of the BZA Chapter.

As the election campaigns in residential areas are going on, representatives of some colonies could not attend the meeting.

Earlier the Core Committee Members comprising m/s Sri Uday Shirname, Dr. KSR Murthy, Sri AV Ramana Rao and Sri M Durga Prasad, met the Municipal Commissioner and CMOH of Vijayawada and invited them also to the present meeting. However they expressed their inability to attend due to hectic election work, but assured their full cooperation.  Accordingly they sent senior officials of VMC to attend the meeting.

We are confident that BZA Chapter of APFERWAS will be formed by June 2019. Sri M Durga Prasad, our Joint Secretary made great efforts since the last two months to make the Vijayawada meeting a great success.
