The International Women’s Day is grandly celebrated in the Spurthi Jyothi Foundation Orphanage in Ibrahimpatnam in which 41 blind students are living while studying in the nearby schools and colleges. Invited by its founding president Smt. Jyothi, I attended as the chief guest in which the other persons on the dias are: Veteran Freedom Fighter Sri. Panthulu garu, Sri. Panduranga Rao garu, Sri. Venkanna garu, Chairperson of the Municipality Smt. Sravanthi, Sri. Nagaraju, ex-Sarpanch Satyanarayana garu and Sri. Venu.

TWWA Wing of SCOTRWA 


Tarnaka Women's Welfare Association is a women’s wing of SCOTRWA. It organized the event on Saturday 7th March 2020 from 2pm to 4pm in Mahilabhavan. Altogether, some 70 members, senior and junior women and children have participated and have enjoyed by delivering speeches, singing songs, conducting funny games and refreshments. After a brief introductory speech by the president Smt. Dhanalakshmi, the following guest have spoken giving valuable suggestions: Mrs. A. Saraswati, local corporator and Mrs. K. Yamuna, advocate, Mahila Patanjali Yog Samithi,  Mrs. Padmini Nayar Rtd. Govt. teacher,  Mrs. Uma, TV anchor, Sanskrit lecturer, Mrs. Meenakshi, advocate, Mrs. Urmila devi Rtd. Head Mistress, Andhra Manila Saba. The discussions were around women empowerment and the burning issues of women and girl child's crimes, abuses, discrimination, etc. in all sectors of the modern society.

Swetha and Haritha have done the anchoring and entertainment by Mrs. Jayaprada and Mrs. Fareeda. Kalpana and Rajani have arranged and distributed refreshments. In addition, Mrs. G. Jayalaxmi, Mrs. Shanta devi, Mrs. Padmavati, Mrs. Bhavani and kids Sreethya, Krithi and Teju also have helped to make the function successful.

‘Voice of Gajuwaka’


International Women's Day Programme in Gajuwaka by ‘Voice of Gajuwaka’ (Federation of Gajuwaka RWAs) under APFERWAS on 8th March at Samatha Nagar Park. The Guests of Honour: Smt T. Lakshmi, Inspector of Police (CI), Smt Dr.P.Hemalatha, Govt.Medical Officer and Smt Dr.Madhuri, MD, Homeo medicine have elaborated on the importance of Swachh Bharat program and the role to be played by the women in the Society. The greatness of Nari Shakti in the creation by the God has been explained. While condemning the atrocities committed on women community in the day-to-day Society, it was urged that every measure of safety and security is to be ensured in the Society.  The various roles played by the Lady as Mother, Wife, Mentor, etc. are hailed by the speakers.

In the well attended meeting, the above guests as well as Smt Usha Rani, Advocated & Senior member, Voice of Gajuwaka were felicitated in token of their services to the Society. Noted among the participants are T.V.Nageswara Rao, President, VoG, B.A.Trinadha Swamy, Secretary,

Tarnaka Senior Citizen Women Association 

Tarnaka Senior Citizen Women Association has celebrated International Women’s Day at Nagarjunanagar Community hall on 8th March. Dr. Anantalakshmi, a social activist attended and gave a very impressive speech that inspired confidence among the participants. On this occasion, Dr. Ananta lakshmi, Sri. Nageswara Rao and Prof. Venugopala Reddy are felicitated. Dr VittalRao garu who read a poem on women as well as Sri. B. Om Prakash garu are also felicitated. A rocking Dandia and a collective dance by all women present on the stage mobilized everybody. Lunch is served.
